The Strokesとしてはブランクがあったため、もう少し変化が欲しかったが、期待を裏切らないタイトな1枚になっている。
Joe Chiccarelliをプロデューサーに迎えたものの、その色はあまり濃くないかと。
#1のサビ部分に流れるザクザクしたギターがかっこいい。リードシングルになった#2はThe Strokesらしいキャッチーな1曲。
#1,#2,#4,#9.#10あたりがお勧め。1stを超える名盤だと思うけど、未だに1stに拘っているヤツラが多すぎ。

White StripesのJack WhiteとBrendan Bensonを中心とした4人バンド。全体的にギターがカッコイイ。まあ、Jimmy Pageから天才と言われただけの事はある。

#2:Salute Your Solution,#5:The Switch and the Spur,#6:Hold Upあたりがお勧め。特に#5のギターとラッパの掛け合いは最高。

#2:Bright Lit Blue Skiesがお勧め。Arcade Fire的な雰囲気。
サイケ&ローファイという感じ。いいじゃん、と思ったら、オリジナルは1966年だそうで、Rockin' Ramrodsのカバーだったんですね。知らないバンドだけど。
あと、#5:Round and RoundはPitchforkの2010年ベストソングに選ばれているんですが、正直「うーーん。。。」て感じですね。僕の感度が古いんですかねぇ・・・。
ただ、#7:Butt-House Blondiesのギターソロはカッコイイ！の一言。

Noel Gallagherが抜けたOasisなのですが、60-70年代のUK-Rockという感じで結構気に入りました。というか、John Lennonです。
Liam Gallagherの声が良く生きている楽曲になっていると思います。
お勧めは#1:Four Letter Word, #3:The Roller, #4:Beatles and Stones, #6:Bring the Light, #12:The Beat Goes On
#3を筆頭にJohn Lennonを意識している感が強く、次回作はどのようなものになるのかが非常に楽しみ。

いわゆるdubstepっぽい曲もあるし、Electoronic/POPよりの曲もあって、判りやすい一枚になっている。
UKでは1位は取れなかった（2位→5位→8位）けど、高評価なアルバムで繰り返し聞くとビートとベースラインが癖になる曲が多い。
ちょっと古臭い感じがあるのが残念だが、良盤です。
